Traveling Around the Gold Coast of Australia
When traveling to a foreign location for the first time, one helpful idea is to research public transportation in the area you are visiting. Knowing in advance the methods of public transportation that are available will make planning your vacation easier, including determining where to stay, and what attractions you will be able to see.
The primary form of public transportation is buses. There are some trains that do go between Brisbane and Gold Coast; however there is not a rail system on the coast itself. The Gold Coast region also has taxi service, although this is not the ideal way to travel. Even though the taxi rated are fairly reasonable, the constant use of taxis as your primary means of transportation can be come overwhelming and expensive.
The most popular transportation method, in the Gold Coast area, is renting a car. Car rentals allow you the freedom to plan your vacation without any travel restrictions, and renting a car also helps to reduce the pressure when you are on vacation, since you dont have to worry about catching a bus or a taxi. Of course renting a car does not mean that you cannot experience some or all of the Gold Coast areas other popular transportation methods, but it does mean that you are not reliant upon them during your trip.
